Why is Monster Lodge unique?
Monster Lodge stands alone in its own grounds bordering on Forestry Commission land. This large five bedroom Highland hideaway has over 100 years of history.
Built in 1901 as part of a croft the house has undergone some major refurbishment over the years. Back in the 1900s we've heard the goats came in if it was cold. The large area with the vaulted ceiling which now has the kitchen/dining room was a cattle byre.
Thankfully all the animals have gone but there are still some reminders of previous occupants. You'll find the intials JA carved into the corners of the wooden fire surround in the lounge, these were lovingly created by the orginal tenants all those years ago.
You'll now find a charming character Highland house with five bathrooms along with four showers, an aga-style stove, fireplaces and log burners. There's also wifi, Wii and an American fridge freezer - it really is a home from home.
